This scholarship is for students applying to our on campus Summer School only, who are UK nationals currently studying an undergraduate programme at a Non-Russell Group University. 

The Non-Russell Group scholarships fund the full on campus summer school course fees for scholarship winners. You will also benefit from mentoring support offered by some of our current MRC funded PhD students.

The Non-Russell Group Scholarships provide an excellent opportunity to develop your critical thinking and collaborative skills, whilst enhancing your scientific knowledge. Through the additional support of a mentor you'll be able to network with other students and start think about some of your career goals and personal development.

"I believe the online summer school provided an interactive and insightful learning experience. I gained a wide scope of knowledge from keystone lectures delivered by world leading scientists, which involved topics which were not covered in my university course. The programme gave me the chance to meet and collaborate with many inspiring academics and talented future scientists.

 

Collaborating with other students in break out rooms helped me gain confidence developing ideas in a team.

 

The programme also helped me view the pandemic from multiple different perspectives and not only highlighted how interdisciplinary the topic of COVID is, but also the need for researchers from various different fields to work together to help solve the implications of the pandemic."
